Reimagined Ford Mustang GTD Spirit of America Pays Tribute to the Best of America

Just in time for America’s 250th birthday, Ford is debuting a new look for the Mustang GTD Spirit of America.

While the Spirit of America name honors Craig Breedlove — the aerospace technician who used a $500 jet engine to become the first person to break the 600-mph land speed barrier — this Mustang GTD salutes the American ingenuity required to take on the world’s best sports cars.

It is the same philosophy that drove the Mustang GTD team to conquer the Nürburgring in 6:40.835, making it one of the fastest cars to ever lap the storied German track.

This new Spirit of America features a striking, asymmetrical exterior livery. Over a Performance White body, new Race Red and Lightning Blue stripes are applied in an offset pattern that reinterprets the iconic Mustang tri-bar.

This design highlights the car’s carbon fiber silhouette, from the front splitter to the rear wing, where exposed carbon fiber and the Mustang name remain primary elements. Forgeline wheels are also included.

While the exterior takes on this all-American new aesthetic, the mechanical soul and interior remain unchanged. The Performance Package is standard, and the driver-focused cockpit has available 3D-printed titanium accents and high-performance ergonomics.

Beneath the hood, the 5.2-liter supercharged V8 continues to deliver 815 horsepower and a top speed of 202 mph. It remains the apex of Mustang performance — a tribute to those who dare to push the edge of the envelope and keep the spirit of America strong.

For those who want a chance to own a Mustang GTD Spirit of America, the application window is open through May 18 for North American customers who want an opportunity to buy the most advanced and powerful street-legal Mustang ever assembled.

2026 Ford Bronco Updates: Wildtrak Returns as Option Package & More

Ford is upping the ante for off-road enthusiasts with mid-year updates to the 2026 Bronco lineup. Highlighting the updates is the return of Wildtrak as a newly available equipment group.

The Wildtrak Package will be available exclusively on Bronco Badlands 4-door models. Purpose-built for rugged performance, Wildtrak now bundles the 330 horsepower 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 engine and 10-speed automatic transmission with the Sasquatch Off-Road Package, which also includes the HOSS 3.0 suspension featuring FOX™ internal bypass dampers. Wildtrak also upgrades Bronco style with the Black Appearance Package.

Beyond the return of the Wildtrak:

  • More Roof Options: Customers looking to customize their Bronco's profile can now select optional painted roof combinations on both the Outer Banks and high-performance Raptor models.

  • Enhanced Convenience: Ford is also adding the popular SecuriCode keyless entry keypad, giving owners a secure and easy way to access their vehicle during outdoor adventures without needing their keys.

These updates go into effect for 2026 Ford Bronco models assembled on or after March 23, 2026 at Ford’s Michigan Assembly Plant.

In addition to these updates, Ford and onX, a leader in outdoor digital navigation, are collaborating to give eligible Ford owners, including Bronco, the tech they need to explore by giving complimentary access to the onX suite of apps for one year. This suite can help them get outside and fully utilize their vehicle’s off-road capability.

Bronco owners who have taken delivery of a qualifying 2024 or newer Bronco are also eligible to attend Bronco Off-Roadeo. Included as a complimentary benefit with the purchase of a new qualifying Bronco, this professional driving experience allows owners to learn essential four-wheel drive techniques under the expert guidance of seasoned trail guides at one of five locations in the United States.
